Using the No-Code UI

The Visitran No-Code UI provides intuitive, visual tools for performing common data transformations without writing code or formulas. This section covers key operations you can perform using the point-and-click interface.

Available Operations

Table Operations

Joining Tables - Combine data from multiple tables using various join types (inner, left, right, outer) to create comprehensive datasets.

Adding Aggregations - Summarize your data with aggregations like count, sum, average, min, and max across groups of rows.

Sorting - Order your data by one or more columns in ascending or descending order for better analysis and presentation.

Column Operations

Showing / Hiding Columns - Control which columns are visible in your model output to focus on relevant data and reduce clutter.

Unique / Distinct - Remove duplicate rows from your dataset to ensure data quality and accurate analysis.

Combining Columns - Merge multiple columns into a single column using visual tools without writing formulas.

When to Use the No-Code UI

The No-Code UI is ideal for:

  • Quick transformations - Point-and-click operations that don't require writing formulas
  • Table-level operations - Joins, sorting, and filtering that affect entire tables
  • Visual preference - Users who prefer graphical interfaces over formula syntax
  • Exploratory analysis - Rapid data exploration and prototyping

UI Features

The No-Code UI provides:

  • Visual feedback - See the results of transformations immediately in the data grid
  • Undo/Redo - Easily revert changes if needed
  • Configuration panels - Clear, organized settings for each operation
  • Data preview - View sample data while configuring transformations

Getting Started

Select an operation from the list above to learn how to use it in Visitran's No-Code UI.

Combining Approaches

You can combine No-Code UI operations with Formula Columns in the same model. Use the No-Code UI for table-level operations and Formula Columns for row-level calculations.
